How to use SIP Calculator

  1. Choose Monthly SIP, One-time investment or Plan a goal.
  2. Enter contribution or goal, existing investment, years and your assumed annual return.
  3. Set optional step-up/inflation and choose the explicit rate convention and contribution timing.
  4. Inspect estimates, alternative return, chart and annual table; copy summary or download TXT/CSV.

A practical example

Invest ₹1,000 monthly for one year at zero return: ₹12,000.

How it works

Monthly recurrence: end timing balance=balance*(1+r)+contribution; start timing balance=(balance+contribution)*(1+r). Nominal r=annual/12; optional effective r=(1+annual)^(1/12)-1. Annual step-up after each 12 contributions. Purchasing power=final/(1+inflation)^years. Goal solver uses linearity of initial balance and contribution series.

Limits and assumptions

1-50 whole years; assumed annual return -50% to 50%; inflation 0-25%; annual step-up 0-100%; monthly investment up to INR 100 million; initial up to INR 10 billion; projected balance/invested capped at INR 1 trillion. Default nominal monthly rate annual/12 and month-end contributions. Constant-return illustration; no tax, fees, withdrawals or market volatility. Returns are not guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions

What does SIP Calculator help with?

A SIP calculator illustrates how regular contributions might accumulate under an assumed return. Mayexa offers monthly SIP, one-time investment and goal-planning modes. The output follows the assumptions you enter; it does not predict a mutual fund's performance or recommend an investment.

What should I check before relying on the result?

Actual market returns vary and can be negative. A smooth constant-return curve does not model volatility, taxes or fees. Do not interpret the chart as a promised outcome or use it as evidence that one fund will outperform another. Review product documents and your circumstances independently; the calculator keeps scenario inputs local and supplies arithmetic illustrations only.

Do I need a Mayexa account?

No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.

Are returns guaranteed?

No. This is a constant-return illustration, not a forecast or fund recommendation. Market returns can be negative. Taxes, fees and market volatility are not modeled.

Why can another SIP calculator show a different result?

The default uses annual return divided by 12 and contributions at month end. You can explicitly choose an equivalent effective monthly rate or beginning-of-month contributions. Timing, step-up and assumptions change results.

What does value in today's money mean?

It discounts the final balance by assumed annual inflation. It represents purchasing power, not a gain after inflation. A goal entered in today's money is increased by inflation before solving the starting SIP.

Are my inputs saved?

No. Calculations stay in this browser tab with no input upload or saved drafts. Downloads and clipboard copies remain under your control.
