How to use EMI Calculator

  1. Enter the loan amount, fixed annual nominal rate and tenure in months or years.
  2. Review monthly principal-and-interest payment and total cost. Currency changes only the display label.
  3. Optionally compare recurring and one-time prepayments; check savings, actual payoff and the final payment.
  4. Expand monthly/yearly amortization or rate scenarios, copy/download a summary or export the monthly CSV. Confirm fees and repayment rules with your lender.

A practical example

A zero-interest ₹120,000 loan over 12 months yields ₹10,000 monthly.

How it works

Stable fixed-rate EMI formula with a zero-interest branch. Schedule settles money in integer cents, applies regular payment then capped extra principal, and adjusts the final installment to clear the balance. Compare against the same loan without extras.

Limits and assumptions

Fixed nominal monthly reducing-balance estimate; 1-600 months, principal 0.01-10 billion and annual rate 0-100%. Fees, taxes, insurance, daily accrual, rate changes and prepayment penalties are excluded. Currency labels do not convert amounts. Confirm lender rounding and repayment rules.

Frequently asked questions

What does EMI Calculator help with?

An EMI calculator estimates a fixed monthly principal-and-interest payment for a loan. Mayexa also shows an amortization schedule and extra-payment scenarios. It is a planning illustration based on your inputs; it is not a lender quotation or a statement of all borrowing costs.

What should I check before relying on the result?

Fees, insurance, taxes and prepayment penalties are excluded. Amounts are settled in cents and the final installment may differ because the outstanding balance must be cleared. Confirm the lender's rounding, payment dates and prepayment rules. Currency selection changes display labels rather than performing exchange-rate conversion, and your loan inputs stay in the browser.

Do I need a Mayexa account?

No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.

Does EMI include every loan cost?

No. This estimates monthly principal and interest at a fixed nominal rate divided by 12. Fees, taxes, insurance, daily accrual, changing rates and prepayment penalties are excluded.

How do extra payments change the estimate?

They are applied after the selected month's interest and regular payment. The base EMI stays the same and the loan can end sooner. Savings compare the same loan without extras and exclude penalties.

Why can the final payment differ?

The calculator settles amounts in cents, uses a minimum one-cent EMI, and adjusts the final installment to repay the outstanding balance within the selected term. Lender rounding and payment rules can differ.

Is my loan information stored?

No. Calculations stay in the current browser tab with no input upload or saved drafts. Currency labels do not perform exchange-rate conversion.
