Compare a two-paragraph draft with estimated reading at 200 words/minute.
Intl.Segmenter word/grapheme/sentence boundaries with Unicode fallback, normalized line endings for line/paragraph analysis; case-insensitive NFC phrase frequencies; reading 200 wpm and speaking 130 wpm by default, adjustable by user. Debounced cancellable browser workers keep text local.
1 MiB UTF-8 input; 20-second cancellable local worker jobs. Word, sentence and visible-character segmentation depends on browser/language, with a disclosed simpler fallback. Whitespace is excluded in the non-space count. Timing uses adjustable assumptions; goals are custom, not certified platform limits. English common-word filtering is optional. No grammar, plagiarism, AI or readability scoring; no automatic saving. Plain UTF-8 TXT/Markdown import only, not DOCX/PDF.
A word counter measures draft length, while a character counter helps with limits expressed in characters. Mayexa shows both, including a non-whitespace count, selected-passage totals and reading or speaking estimates. These describe text length rather than judging writing quality.
Import plain UTF-8 TXT or Markdown within the 1 MiB limit. Phrase frequency can reveal repeated wording, but it is not a keyword-density target. Reading time is an adjustable assumption, not measured reader behavior. No grammar, plagiarism or AI-detection score is provided, and drafts are not automatically saved.
No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.
No. Counting runs in local browser workers. There is no text upload, AI request or automatic draft saving. Copy/download before leaving. A cleared draft can be restored in memory until your next edit or navigation.
Characters use visible Unicode grapheme boundaries when supported; emoji sequences or combining marks can count as one. The non-space count removes all whitespace, including tabs and line breaks. Platform code-point or UTF-16 limits can differ.
Sentence boundaries vary by language, abbreviations and browser segmentation. Reading defaults to 200 words/minute and speaking to 130; both are adjustable assumptions. Times round up to a second and are not measured speeds.
Custom goals, selected-passage counts, word/phrase frequency, unique words, average words per sentence and sentences exceeding 25 words. These are length indicators; no grammar, plagiarism, AI or readability score is supplied.

Long sentences can be worth reviewing. This is a length indicator, not a readability score or grammar judgement.
1 MiB of UTF-8 text. Local workers update after a short typing pause, stop after 20 seconds and cancel stale work. No server processing, automatic saving or AI requests. Import supports plain TXT/Markdown only, not DOCX/PDF.
Word, character and sentence boundaries use Intl.Segmenter when available; a simpler Unicode fallback is disclosed below. Visible character counts can differ from platform code-point or UTF-16 limits. Paragraphs are nonempty blocks separated by blank lines; lines include empty lines and a trailing line break. Sentence counts vary with language and abbreviations. Reading/speaking times are estimates rounded up to the next second, not measured speeds.
