How to use CGPA Calculator

  1. Choose GPA, SGPA or CGPA and your institution's maximum points. Edit the illustrative mapping or use direct grade points.
  2. Enter course credits; cumulative results can use course semester numbers or semester SGPAs and the credits they represent.
  3. Review included credits and per-semester breakdown, then copy or download TXT/CSV. Changing scale preserves inputs and flags invalid values.
  4. Optional Save locally stores a validated draft on this browser profile. Load preserves current inputs on failure; delete saved drafts on shared devices. Confirm institution-specific rules.

A practical example

A 4-credit subject at 9 points and 2-credit subject at 6 points gives GPA 8.

How it works

Credit-weighted GPA=sum(points*credits)/sum(credits); semester summaries weighted by their included credits, never unweighted semester averages.

Limits and assumptions

CLEAR ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

What does CGPA Calculator help with?

A credit-weighted GPA is the sum of credit × grade-point values divided by the total included credits. SGPA applies that idea to a semester; CGPA combines the relevant academic record. Mayexa provides separate modes and configurable scales so you can enter your institution's actual grading rules.

What should I check before relying on the result?

Repeated courses, pass/fail modules and excluded credits can follow institution-specific rules. Enter only the items that count under your academic policy, and compare the result with your transcript. Do not convert CGPA to a percentage using a universal multiplier: consult your institution's published conversion rule. The output is a calculation aid, not an official transcript or credential verification.

Do I need a Mayexa account?

No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.

How are GPA, SGPA and CGPA weighted?

They use sum(points times credits) divided by sum(credits). Semester summaries must include their credits; a plain average of semester SGPAs is not used.

Does choosing a scale convert my grades automatically?

No. Existing points and mappings are preserved. Values above the new maximum are flagged. Edit the example mapping to match your institution; no universal percentage or scale conversion is assumed.

How are local drafts handled?

Save locally is opt-in. Both course and semester inputs are validated, including hidden views, and stored only in this browser profile. Invalid loads preserve current inputs; storage failures are reported. Delete saved drafts on shared devices.

Is this an official result?

No. It is a generic credit-weighted estimate. Your institution decides eligible courses, repeats, exclusions, scale and rounding. Display rounds to three decimals while weighting keeps full precision.
