Quick answer: A credit-weighted GPA is the sum of credit × grade-point values divided by the total included credits. SGPA applies that idea to a semester; CGPA combines the relevant academic record. Mayexa provides separate modes and configurable scales so you can enter your institution's actual grading rules.

Understand the method before choosing an action

Do not average semester GPAs directly when their credit totals differ. A semester with more included credits contributes more to a cumulative result. Grade symbols and their point values also differ between institutions, so the default mapping should be checked before relying on the output.

A practical example to work through

For a three-credit course worth eight grade points and a two-credit course worth nine, the weighted result is (3×8 + 2×9)/(3+2) = 8.4. This illustrative calculation shows why equal weighting would give a different answer. Enter the same courses and inspect the total credits as well as the resulting GPA.

Use the Mayexa workspace

  1. Choose GPA, SGPA or CGPA and your institution's maximum points. Edit the illustrative mapping or use direct grade points.
  2. Enter course credits; cumulative results can use course semester numbers or semester SGPAs and the credits they represent.
  3. Review included credits and per-semester breakdown, then copy or download TXT/CSV. Changing scale preserves inputs and flags invalid values.
  4. Optional Save locally stores a validated draft on this browser profile. Load preserves current inputs on failure; delete saved drafts on shared devices. Confirm institution-specific rules.

Limits, privacy and interpretation

Repeated courses, pass/fail modules and excluded credits can follow institution-specific rules. Enter only the items that count under your academic policy, and compare the result with your transcript. Do not convert CGPA to a percentage using a universal multiplier: consult your institution's published conversion rule. The output is a calculation aid, not an official transcript or credential verification.

No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.
