Quick answer: PDF conversion and PDF page editing are different workflows. Mayexa's shared PDF workspace includes browser-local conversions and separately labeled private-worker operations. On the current live deployment, server PDF processing is disabled, so merge, split and other upload-based editing actions are unavailable.

Open PDF Merge & Split to inspect its current options and availability.

Understand the method before choosing an action

Browser-local tasks include images or text to PDF, extraction of text from supported PDFs, and rendered page exports. Text-oriented DOCX and Markdown outputs do not reconstruct the source document's tables or exact layout. A PowerPoint export made from rendered pages contains page images rather than the original editable objects.

A practical example to work through

To turn a short plain-text note into a PDF, choose the local text conversion task and review the preview before downloading. To extract text from a scanned document, first determine whether it contains a text layer: an image-only scan needs OCR, which this deployment does not provide. Keep the source document so you can check missing text.

Use the Mayexa workspace

  1. Choose an organize, edit, compress or conversion task in the PDF workspace.
  2. Add supported files and set task-specific page ranges, order, crop, numbering or conversion options.
  3. For private-worker tasks, review sanitization and temporary-upload disclosure before explicitly submitting. Local conversion tasks stay in this tab.
  4. Inspect actual results and limitations, download the output, then clear temporary jobs when finished.

Limits, privacy and interpretation

When worker processing is enabled in the future, its upload consent and retention rules apply separately; availability should be checked in the workspace. Signed and encrypted documents are refused. Cropping a PDF changes its visible box and is not secure redaction. Never assume hidden text has been removed merely because it disappears from the page view.

No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.
