How to use Image Studio - Compress, Resize & Convert
- Choose Compress, Resize or Convert, then upload or drop up to ten JPEG, PNG or static WebP images. Images remain on your device.
- Choose output format and quality. Combine resizing, center crop or padding, rotation, flips and background settings as needed.
- Process the batch, compare the actual encoded preview and inspect dimensions, sizes and warnings. Target-size attempts can fail honestly.
- Download each completed image or a ZIP. Clear images when finished. Settings changes discard old results; originals remain until cleared.
A practical example
Compress a 1600 × 900 JPEG at 80% quality and compare file sizes.
How it works
Bounded header validation; orientation-aware createImageBitmap; sequential OffscreenCanvas workers; actual encoded-result thumbnails; bounded quality search; locally bundled fflate ZIP.
Limits and assumptions
10 files, 10 MiB per input and 50 MiB per batch; 20 megapixels and 10000 pixels per side; 20 MiB per output, 50 MiB ZIP and 45 seconds per worker job. Static JPEG, PNG and WebP only. PNG and already optimized files may grow. Target sizes are not guaranteed. Re-encoding does not copy source EXIF/GPS; keeping original bytes retains metadata. Browser color profiles/HDR may change.
Frequently asked questions
What does Image Studio - Compress, Resize & Convert help with?
Image compression changes encoded file size; resizing changes pixel dimensions; conversion changes the file format. Start with the task your website or upload form requires. Mayexa Image Studio combines all three in one browser workspace without uploading image pixels to a processing server.
What should I check before relying on the result?
The studio accepts static JPEG, PNG and WebP, with up to ten inputs and 10 MiB per image. Animated images and unsupported codecs are rejected. Re-encoding does not copy source EXIF/GPS metadata, but downloading unchanged original bytes retains it. Target file sizes are attempts, not promises, and this tool does not write image alt text for your website.
Do I need a Mayexa account?
No Mayexa account is required. Review the workspace's processing labels and limits before entering data.
Can I compress, resize and convert together?
Yes. Both image tool links open the same Image Studio with different starting settings. Combine these operations in one export.
Why is my PNG or optimized image larger?
PNG uses lossless browser encoding. Quality applies to JPEG and WebP. Re-encoding can increase size; actual bytes and any increase are displayed. You may explicitly keep an unchanged original, retaining its metadata.
Are my images uploaded or stored?
Image pixels and downloads are processed locally in browser workers. There is no image upload, AI request or draft persistence. Clear the workspace to release image references.
How are orientation and transparency handled?
EXIF orientation is applied before editing. PNG and WebP support transparency; JPEG uses the selected fill color. Source EXIF/GPS is not copied when re-encoding. Original downloads retain metadata.
What are the processing limits?
10 files, 10 MiB per input and 50 MiB per batch; 20 megapixels and 10000 pixels per side; 20 MiB per output, 50 MiB ZIP and 45 seconds per worker job. Static JPEG, PNG and WebP only. PNG and already optimized files may grow. Target sizes are not guaranteed. Re-encoding does not copy source EXIF/GPS; keeping original bytes retains metadata. Browser color profiles/HDR may change.
